I use a mac for D&D Beyond and I can't use sigil, which is a bummer because I have a subscription. Beyond should totally make sigil compatible wit the Mac.
What Wagnarokkr said; the project was so ineptly handled that it released with a ton of issues. It's a shame as I was really hyped to see if this would become my new go-to for VTT over Roll20. Alas, I think you're not missing much (currently) by not having access to it on Mac.

They had originally said that this was planned, but the project seems to be essentially dead at this point, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I'm not sure they're going to continue creating Sigil for Windows...
Sigil is dead.
If you want something (far) better than Roll20, use Foundry.
