Why can't we post a photo from our hard drive? Hyperlinks are great and all but can we not simply insert a photo from a file on our PC or mobile device? Seems like that should be basic functionality. So I can't simply "Browse" go to my .jpg file, simply select it, and then click ok to upload it? Sorry but having to upload it to another program to get a hyperlink is a pain...and makes me waaaaaaay less likely to use the system for DM notes...which kinda defeats the purpose right?
I'm guessing there's some sort of reason where D&D Beyond doesn't want to be responsible for hosting a hoard of images uploaded by thousands of people for their custom content and/or notes when it is far easier to just do the hot-linking. Is this annoying? Yes.

I found a great workaround is a private board on pinterest. It doesn't cost anything. You upload to pinterest from your computer, Its not open to the general public. Then you link it into your campaign diary notes and its all there as the images not links.
We advise to use one of the many free image hosting sites on the internet to upload your image, you can then link it into your D&D Beyond campaign notes.

Responsible for? I don’t know. But I do know they don’t want to pay for the file storage. That adds up quick.
