Others and I have constantly been confused by the nomenclature around attack actions and those attacks. However, a simple Rename of any individual 'attack' being switched to shot would clear up the differences between the attack action and the now shots of that action in the easiest and most concise way.
Example: Class feature: Extra Attack -> Extra Shot
I thought about calling it swings, but then might get confusion about melee vs ranged. However I believe shot adequate to convey an individual attack of either melee OR ranged as we take our shots at hitting enemies.
The other route would be to change the Attack Action Name to Assault Action, but while less complicated is more confusing.
The D&D Fifth edition rulebooks on D&D Beyond are exact duplicates of the latest printing of the rulebooks created by Wizards of the Coast (the designers of 5th edition D&D).
As such, D&D Beyond isn't able to make any such changes unless Wizards of the Coast themselves issue an errata or updated version of the rules.
