One thing I've noticed is that when I search a monster, such as a Bulette, or more importantly, when I click the monster's name, I'm taken to the Monster page for the monster. This is fine, except the monster pages do not contain any of the source commentary. For example, the Bulette has 6 paragraphs of details about it. Another example is the Black Earth Guard from Princes of the Apocalypse, which has a paragraph.
These paragraphs often have key information. For example, the nature of the Black Earth Guard's armor.
Why are they not contained in the monster page? Can they be? I just don't undersrtand why the monster page would have incomplete information; it basically means I have to go check the source half the time anyway.
If there's a good reason to not have the descriptions on the monster page, then at least (a) all sources should be noted (i.e., not just the basic rules but also the Monster Manual, which has more info), and more importantly (b) those source notes at the bottom should be links, not just text; preferably linking directly to the appropriate place in the source. Then at least when I want more info, I only have to click once.

Basically, it is because the monster is in the basic rules and the monster page can be seen by anyone without making purchases. The neat info is in a book the requires a purchase to view. Putting the info that requires a purchase to view into the monster page that doesn't not require a purchase to view is not only bad business, but probably also violates license agreements.

This though. This is what it should be. A link to its entry in a book. They can put it in every monster page, and if someone doesn't have the book it links to, they will get redirected to marketplace.

But that isn't true of something like the Black Earth Guard. A person shouldn't even be able to see its stat block unless they already have purchased Princes of the Apocalypse. Unless I'm missing something.
If I click the link to Bulette, it takes me to the first one (minus the ads) even though I have the MM. To get the information in the description, I have to look it up in the MM.
Huge apologies! I've had a chat with the dev team and they've identified an issue that's preventing the text from being displayed to those who should see it.
Have the legendary bundle on this account as I'm the one sharing with my group. As far as I can tell, the descriptions in the basic rules are overriding the descriptions from the monster manual for any monster that's in the basic rules.
I also can see bulette's info and I have the legendary bundle (purchased not shared). I've never been able to see MM descriptions of any monster in basic rules, I thought it was normal. Is it relevant that I am on mobile?

It's intended for a fix to be live next week.
Is this for all things, are just this specific example, or just the MM? I was just thinking about this issue this week, as some monsters in Volos show the extra description (IE, Yuan-Ti Broodguard), but other's don't (IE Yuan-Ti Mind Whisperer and Pit Master). Seems to not just be confined to the MM.
I'm glad to hear that the intended behavior is for the descriptive text to be visible on the Monster Page to those who have purchased the appropriate source. Thanks so much for looking into this, @Stormknight. Looking forward to seeing the fix when it appears.
I just checked, and the examples I listed a few replies above from Volos are still not showing the description on the details page- it's still just the stat bock.

Odd; they show up for me now. Maybe it's been fixed in the meantime.
The examples I cited above also now work.
Thanks for the quick fix!
Super weird; they still aren't showing up for me. Volos is a source that's being shared with me, and not one I've purchased directly. Could that be the reason?
Just wanted to ping this again, as its a few months later, and monsters in Volos still aren't showing any of the descriptions- just the monster stat block. I'm having to open Volos under the sourcebooks, find the monster in the book, and look it up separately to see any of the monsters information. All of the other sourcebooks (MM, MtoF, the adventures Ive unlocked) seem to be fine- just Volos.
Potentially relevant info: Volos is being shared with me via my own Masters subscription.

The Bulette is a great example.
Here's what you see if you haven't purchased the Monster Manual on D&D Beyond (complete with adverts):

Weird .... that definitely isn't working as intended.
Can you confirm that you have purchased the Monster Manual on your account (as opposed to it is shared with you).
I've also checked the Princes of the Apocalypse monsters and the stat blocks are missing the descriptions, so I'll get those all added in.

This is fixed now.
Thanks!
