I just searched "Turn Undead" it wasnt in the initial results, nor was it under the character filter (apparently it is not a class feature, what?), when I filtered for compendium channel divinity was the 13th (basic rules) and 14th (PHB) result.
Yeah the search engine kind of sucks. It has less features and is less reliable than a 15 year old version of google.
Yeah, the player playing the Paladin was using "Turn the Unholy", and I wanted to quickly look it up, but struggled terribly. Yeah, I could have navigated to his character sheet, but as a DM I would just rather search for rules, than digging up each character sheet.
This searching issue seems to happen a lot with DNDB and I need to make note of them to report them up here (not sure if anyone even listens or does anything about it anyway).
I have the same issue searching for anything, not just rules. Very hit and miss, and mostly miss. The search function is the main reason I chose DNDB over physical copies. So, pretty unhappy.
Search needs a lot of work. We need a way to limit what books to search in at the very least. Using it for something simple like the rules for jumping and I get results from every source book that mentions jumping and the featured result is the ring of jumping. Not helpful at all.

During session last night, search failed me again, and I often find that searching rule mechanics in DnDB to be hit and miss, mostly miss.
I can’t remember all past cases, but I will keep adding them to this post as they come about, but last night I needed to quickly look up turn undead.
so I searched:
Turn Undead, turn, turning... and nothing useful resulted in my search, so I dug out my trusty players handbook and found it the old fashion.
That is my only big complaint with DNDB - it’s looking for rule mechanics on the fly...
