When the roper uses its Reel action, it pulls creatures it is grappling into the lava.
(You might want to put this in the monster description). And the lava hazard has this description:
A creature takes 6d10 fire damage when it enters lava for the first time on a turn or when it ends its turn there.
Factoring that in, it can do 73 (8d8+6d10+4) damage per turn and an extra 37 (1d8+6d10) damage at the end of each grappled creature's turn if they don't escape.
Why are the Molten Magma Roper a CR 11 monster, while the almost identical Roper is CR 5???
Does the Cold Vulnerability and Fire Immunity and a 1d8 dmg on the Tendril warrant a 6CR increase?
Can it be because you usually encounter the Molten Magma Ropers near Magma, and therefore has the potential of environment damage?
