I just spent $4 on the EGtW spells only to find out they're useless without the subclasses from the book. I haven't been interested in EGtW, but when I came across a spell I didn't have access to in the spell list, I just decided to buy them. I had no way of knowing they'd be useless for me. I just thought, "hey, more spells!" That's incredibly frustrating to buy something only to not be able to use it.
Now, I'm going to copy them and make them available for other classes, which is just a minor inconvenience (barely) and I know it's not DDB's fault the spells are the way they are. But could you have put a little warning in bold red font that says "These spells will not work without the Wizard schools from this book" next to the spells section on the book's page?
I agree that this would be something useful to have on the Marketplace section so that people that haven't researched the Wildemount stuff fully don't fall into the 'trap' of buying the spells and finding they can't be used with other subclasses.
Currently the Wildemount Spells on the Marketplace section displays this:
Spells
Get the 15 spells from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount for use on D&D Beyond. You may also purchase individual spells.
What would probably help would be something akin to this:
Spells
Get the 15 spells from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount for use on D&D Beyond. You may also purchase individual spells. Please be aware that these spells are not available to other subclasses of Wizard and are only available to the Chronurgist and the Graviturgist.

Yeah, just had a look and even the book description makes no mention of it. So while you can find out the limitation by checking pinned threads in forums or watching videos about the product in media, you would not know from just the marketplace.

Which, honestly, I never would've thought to do because the book itself didn't interest me and spells have never been like that before.
Like I said, it's barely an inconvenience to just make homebrew copies and assign them to other classes. I'm really excited to have the spells and am more than happy to have paid for them.
It would just be a really good idea going forward to have a notice on the marketplace for others.
Excellent stuff - may fortune bless your dice and keep your comrades safe. Even the Bard.

Yup. Exactly what I was thinking.

Can always make a homebrewed copy of your subclass and include those spells as available to you.
Characters currently being ruined on this forum:
Neria Tallfellow (Halfling Rogue) - Curse of the Crimson Throne with Ashen_Age

Thanks for the feedback on this, I've passed it along and we're taking a look at those spells to see what makes the most sense.
