Hi,l was wondering if it would be possible to add a way to have characters be over level 20? I mean total level, not class level. For example, forge cleric 20, artificer 20? Or fighter 5, paladin 10,wizard 6? Or sorcerer 3 rogue 19? It would open many rollplay and character making options, and ways to make humanoid NPCs and enemys. Obviously this would have to be a optional rule, but I think this would be a welcome addition to the character maker.
This is something that has come up before and will come up plenty more times. It's definitely something lots of people want, but the conclusion and most likely situation is we won't see that ability on DDB until WotC adds an official rulebook for it.
Through the use of homebrew feats you could replicate the feel of going beyond 20th level; by creating a feat that gives you a class option and applying it to your character when you would reach that level.
