Since more rules toggles have been added recently, I feel like it is a good time to bring up this rule variant. It was introduced in the DMG and is a bit much to try to keep track of manually.
I haven't had a chance to try it, but I like it in theory. It gives you more versatility with low level utility spells. It also gives you a sense of having a limit to magic and big spells take more of that limit, instead of checking off a box.
I dig it too. what I did was just make a feat with the spell points per level and in the description put the points of each level of spell for quick reference.

I honestly thought this would get... well some kind of attention.
Is this rule variant not actually wanted?
I don't have a reference, but I recall seeing Jeremy Crawford say on a stream that the variant rule for spell points wasn't very popular.
Staff have said that they aim to ultimately support all variant rules on D&D Beyond, but I don't have a timeframe for that.

I Would very much like this variant rule added to the character sheet as well.

That would be amazing
Yes please. IMHO Spell Points should be the default for Sorceror. That helps differentiate it even more from the other spellcaster classes.

I love the feature.
I understand, that you guys are busy, but it is about time that you add it. We have been waiting long enough now for a DMG feature!
