Here we list all the content of the book except the things in the introduction so people can easily miss it. You have to go to the separate introduction link for that content but why? Can't it just be listed with all the other content?
Xanathars introduction has a very important section the "Ten Rules to Remember" that Crawford wrote as a reminder and deeper clarification of the rules that people tend to miss or ask him on twitter a lot about. By not presenting this in the front view there is a risk that people think that the introduction is just fluff text on who wrote the book ect..
The books content should include the content in the introduction
The Table of Contents is presented as a duplicate of the Table of Contents from the printed book.
This is a design decision made on purpose - I don't know whether there have been discussions/agreement between Curse & WotC over this and the presentation of the books, but I do know that there is a core philosophy for the D&D Beyond site for the compendiums to be laid out the same as the printed books.
You are right though - people seem to miss the introduction, even though it's on a big, green button on that page. :)
The books content should include the content in the introduction
