Formatting on this site is not great. I just created a thread, and spent a decent amount of time making it look pretty nice, then when I submitted/created the thread there are now gaps in between random bullet points and huge spaces between paragraphs. When I click to edit the posts, the posts look fine and do not have these gaps. It doesn't make any sense, some of the bullet points don't have gaps between them, but others do. Trying to delete the lines and recreate them makes them look tabbed/indented at different points. It's just really frustrating.
The thread I am currently referring to is here, however this happens to me on several posts, with bulleted lists in particular.
I think if I indent a bullet point further (to make a sub-point of an existing bullet) it creates an extra gap, but I have no idea why extra gaps are otherwise happening. As I stated, if I click edit, these gaps are not there.
Testing a bullet
Testing an indented bullet, that currently appears without a gap under the "testing bullet" in edit mode
If I go to a second main bullet like this, there is a gap in the edit between the first bullet, and I have no way of removing it.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!

Here is a picture displaying what I'm talking about, for clarity.
When editing the post, this is what I see:

As soon as I click Save this is what it shows:
These extra spaces/gaps are driving me nuts and make my post look sloppy (and it bothers me) :(

It parses the HTML in an odd way, that's for sure.
