You built this yourself? It's pretty cool, I would probably buy it if I had room to use it.
I'll take that as a compliment :-) I'm the designer - it was kickstarted a few months back, and I figured I'd share one of the updated picture sets :-)
You mentioned this was Kickstarted a few months ago -I'm assuming you mean literally on the Kickstarter platform (as opposed to getting a helpful or creative nudge to get you started). I'm honestly surprised I missed it, as I'm currently running a homebrew campaign that relies upon the group's access to a ship to allow a surprisingly modular story. I started looking for the most appropriate terrain, minis, etc that I could find as early as May and June, and started the campaign in September. Needless to say, I did find a ship... Mine, however, looks far less impressive than yours.
I do particularly like your design though, especially because I see how the components could be easily arranged differently to create new ships of varying sizes and features -which is always fantastic when you might want such encounters to hit the table several times over the course of a campaign.
If I'm not mistaken, it looks like you're 3D printing various components of the ship as building blocks to a number of different designs. I've seen some far more rudimentary work in the Open lock system, but NOTHING like what you've created.
I tried a few keyword lookups on Kickstarter, but had very little luck, all I could locate was something by Tabletop Blacksmith, that looks nowhere near the level of quality, customization, or detail that I could find on their campaign page. If you wouldn't mind sharing a link for yours, I'd love to take a look at that and see how much the completed components, or even 3D print files might cost.
Much appreciated, and again, awesome work on that boat. It looks phenomenal.

If I purchased the license for a year, could I gift it to someone else? I don't have a printer and I am trying to help out someone who is dealing with the current fire situation in California. I'd like to purchase this license for them. Does it include all the files? Or are there other packages that need to be purchase? Are the files available as soon as they are purchased? Or is there a future release date?

I just PM'd you in regards to the 1 year license. For just access to everything (except the Izzy's exclusive stuff, as that's under a separate agreement) get the "Late to formation Fleet Captain" if commercial printing isn't needed. :-)
Hi, I sent a message about the monsters package and the necromonicon boat. The turtle dragon and the boat did not appear in my downloads. Have those been released? Thanks

My design :-)
Customizable hull configuration, sterncastle design, etc.
Thoughts?

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
I'll take that as a compliment :-)

That's pretty cool - great work there! :)

Is this available for purchase anywhere?
Thanks for the compliments :-)
You can buy it via the backerkit (https://shipworks.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders) ignore the old pictures - the backer released ones are much farther along then the OG kickstarter ones.
Yes! Via the backerkit page. :-)
Side note - the new leviathan / sea serpent that's designed for it is pretty epic.
and one of the backers' WiP prints:
This makes me want to plan an epic sea adventure XD Excellent work! That leviathan is awesome!
Thanks! The kraken is pretty epic too :-)
Is it still possible to purchase these? Are these actual products of files for printing?
Yes, it's still possible, and they are actual files that you can print at home.
Also have the Dragon Turtle ;-)
Very nice, these are fantastic. I'll definitely be grabbing some of those models!
Glad you enjoy them, and look forward to seeing your prints!!
I confuse easily. What package do I need to buy to get everything?
