We are grateful, humbled, and to be honest surprised at how such an active community has sprung up here at DDB in only a day. Thank you once again for your participation in making D&D Beyond everything we (all of us collectively as players and fans) want the toolset and experience to be.
I wanted to collect several of the prominent topics/ questions/ answers here to hopefully help everyone navigate the meta-discussion a little better. We continue to get a huge number of duplicated posts asking or stating the same things and reading this first should alleviate that a bit.
I also heard a rumor that we will start recruiting for moderators today to help us keep up with the huge influx of activity - keep your eyes peeled for that!
Here goes:
Why is [Insert Game Mechanic Here] missing from the Compendium or the Spells, Items, Monsters listings?
For the beta, the Basic Rules content only is available. This would include everything in the Systems Reference Document. You won't find anything else at this point, and it won't do any good to tell us we should include it or let us know it's missing.
Why are modrons showing up for some of the monsters? Why are images for the specific magic items not included.
We have not added all of the artwork to every element on the site yet - but we are certainly going to as we go along!
Is there an app to download? How do I access this on my tablet or phone?
A native mobile app is absolutely in the works for DDB, but at this point for the beta everything is included in the website. The site is mobile responsive, so you should be able to view and use it just fine on a phone or tablet. Just visit the site in your device's browser. If something doesn't look right on your mobile device, that's the kind of feedback we want to hear during the beta so we can make it pretty everywhere. We will definitely share more specifics about the mobile app soon, including how to download it.
A global search function is really essential - I can't find what I'm looking for in the Compendium.
Completely agreed - we have a really solid global "omni" search coming. It's just not included in this phase of the beta. I assure you, this is right at the top of our list, but we will add it toward the end to be certain we make it cover all the bases.
Why do I have to log in with my Twitch account? I thought this was D&D Beyond (or Curse).
D&D Beyond is being developed by Curse, and Curse is part of the Twitch family. Curse uses Twitch accounts now. I'll try to channel Socrates here:
D&D Beyond accounts are Curse accounts Curse accounts are Twitch accounts Therefore, D&D Beyond accounts are Twitch accounts
So, there's no difference in logging in with your Twitch account and logging in with a DDB-specific account - they are one in the same. We appreciate the feedback on this, but I also know that in order to give that feedback you logged in with your Twitch account and it didn't seem to be a major ordeal!
I'm sure there are hundreds of other questions and topics I'm not touching on here, but these came across prominently yesterday.
Please continue to share your feedback as we continue the adventure. I hope you'll see over time that we really are listening and we want D&D Beyond to be the best it can possibly be for players of the world's greatest roleplaying game!
This feels like a good as place as any re: the email I just received. "What's been happening at D&D Beyond" as it arrived "The morning after"
I feel like the format of that email certainly could use some work. That said, I like the intention of the email very much. A summary of posts / follows and any activity related to my account. Something that could be added to help draw me back in would be a section for hot threads as well. Things maybe I am not currently active in - but could be. Something simple like a summary (excerpt) of the first post and a few of the most recent replies, etc.
Keep up the great work, and as with everyone else - I am naturally anxious to start building characters and testing out some of that functionality.
I think the source of much confusion has been that the Rules page says that it contains all the content of the SRD, and it clearly doesn't yet. I am guessing that the Characters, Races, etc will be included at the time of the character generation, but it really should have been included here. It wasn't necessary to part that out.
I didn't like logging into Twitch, but meh.
I was actually surprised and pleased how good the site looked on my phone as-is. I expect the character generation will be more difficult in that regard, but great work so far.
I am eager to see the search functionality, and hotlinking within the articles.
will this be a daily update? its nice to know what gets noticed and what doesnt or at least what the mods and developers are noticing as far as the communities input is concerned. would be nice to have a place to review what has been looked at so we as testers dont keep squawking about issues and topics that are already being taken care of
I'm happy to hear about the pictures being implemented for everything. I mentioned it elsewhere, but please make sure those pictures (creatures especially) open into a separate viewing window. I need to be able to show the players the picture without showing them the stats.
Yes, phase 1 looks so good so far that I too am very eager for phase 2 & 3.

Appreciate the status update and feedback on concerns raised!
I know it is a work in progress but I feel like the artwork is such a key part of D&D products that it would be great to see more up here, monsters, decorating entries, etc.
What happens if you don't use Twitch (I don't), but you play Dungeons & Dragons (I do). The example using the communicative property fails (!A=B=C) is false. Having the ability to log in using other service APIs would be nice. Both Google and Facebook have them. This sounds like Twitch wants one or more of the following:
My information, to know I play Dungeons & Dragons or to inflate subscription numbers.
..or I am just paranoid in my dotage.

Congratulations on this wonderful initiative! Is there any plan to expand language options during the beta or after the full version? This will be a wonderful tool for players who are not so fluent in English and need an easier and more reliable way to get more specific information about the game in their own language as it relieves some of the weight from the shoulder of the DMs from translating the material to making it more easy to the rest of the party understands the rules and mechanics.
This post should clear up 90% of the questions on the forums. Hopefully the community can focus on what has been presented to us in phase 1 of Beta, and begin to discuss tweaks that will help the site be as user friendly as possible. Thanks for the quick update and for paying attention to the forums.

We have not added all of the artwork to every element on the site yet - but we are certainly going to as we go along!
And also because all those Modrons are marching through the Para-Elemental Plane of The D&D Beyond Site, making sure all the cogs and tubes are connected as decreed by the Primus.
BTW: I'll be excited to see a search function for the SRD rules. I take that back. My players will be excited for search function, because when they ask about a rule in game I mostly make them look it up >:D

Awesome, thanks for the update. I'm not going to lie - I was expecting something less. However, you delivered!
Well done!

This is a great idea a pinned roadmap thread would be awesome. Doesnt have to include dates, but just knowing the priority is helpful.
Also, of course their is huge support for this app/site. Dnd thrives.
Awesome! Thanks for the answers, I'm in love with this experience!

I am seeing a lot of similar comments about additional details on the monster pages. A note on that may cut down some posts.
