Hi everyone, I have a homebrew race with 2 subraces. The race has an ability score increase and both subraces have additional ability score increases too. But in character creation the only thing that applies is the one from the race and not the subraces.
The same happens with proficiency. I wonder what I am doing wrong. I have them in private not public btw. I guess the solution would be to give up trying to make them subraces and create two different races with all the different traits in them. But then what is the point of the subraces option?
In case anyone is looking is as confused as I was. I fixed it by setting all subrace's traits as granted instead of additional which is what I was doing wrong. I still do not know what additional is supposed to do but as long as granted and replace works then I do not see the need for it.
