I'm sure it is something on the sites radar, but my self and a couple other individuals in my campaign agreed that if the new bag of holding update in the character sheets tracked weight separate from the total inventory weight it would be incredibly helpful for certain characters with a large amount of gear and clutter.
Agreed, is there a plan to track it seperately at all? At least it should count the weight as 0 (15lb in general of course) so we don't have to set the weight of everything to 0 by hand. Any Info on that front?
So excited to hear this! I just rolled up an Artificer with the Archaeologist background and dang, she was maxed out on encumbrance just at level 1! Since there is no feature that subtracts the weight of items in the Bag of Holding, is there a way to manually set the encumbrance weight on our character sheets? Should I just select "no encumbrance"?
You could either select No Encumbrance in Preferences, or else Customize each item in the Bag of Holding to have Weight Override of 0. (That's what I've been doing for the longest time.)

Another option is to manually add up the weight of the items in the bag, subtract 15 (the weight of the bag) from it and then set the weight of the bag of holding to this figure as a negative number. For example is you currently have 100 lbs of gear in the bag of holding, set the bag’s weight to -85 lbs and your character’s weight carried figure will be correct.
