Hello all. I'm trying to create a level 3 Wizard and can add the correct number of spells to my spellbook, but can not prepare the number of spells shown. Should have 4 level 1 spells prepared, but everything gets greyed out after I've prepared my third. The total spell count in the spellbook is correct, and the character sheet correctly shows that I should have 4 level 1 spells, I just can't seem to prepare the forth one.
The "4 level 1" things you're looking at are spell slots, not available prepared spell counts. Spell slots just represent the "energy" amounts you have available for casting spells at that particular level. A 3rd-level Wizard can have up to 3 + INT modifier spells prepared from their spellbook, of any spell level (though of course your 1st-level slots are useless if you don't prepare any 1st-level spells.)
