If you're on the Equipment page of the Character Builder, and your character doesn't have proficiency in longswords, then uncheck the Proficient box in the filter. Then it'll show up.

I'm trying to Add Items on my character, and the Sun Blade doesn't show up as an option when I search.
Hmmm, I have tested on a couple of characters and the Sun Blade worked for me.
Are you applying any filters?
Are there any other items not appearing when you search for them? (Try Holy Avenger or Luck Blade for example)

Yep. That's it. I knew about the short sword/longsword issue, but it slipped my mind.
Thanks. I turned off Proficiency filter, and I'm all set.
Except for this critical hit I just took to my pride. Other than that, though, I'm okay.
