So, today i was making a ranger with druidic warrior fighting style and grabbed shillelagh as a cantrip. I noticed that, after i added a quarterstaff +1, the shilellagh's attack modifier doesn't add the +1.
I know i can customize the shillelagh's modifier and add the bonus myself, but i thought it'd be ok to report it as someone might not notice this.
The cantrip attack listing doesn't "know" anything about what weapon you're using the spell on, it's just there to tell what the die roll and modifier will be (since it's based on your spellcasting modifier.)
Adding the bonus yourself is probably the simplest method to deal with it. I've done a homebrew version of a staff with +2 to attack & damage rolls, but it gets complicated.
