I've been noticing that a number of backdrops are not loading in when I select them as a backdrop for my characters. It seems totally random, some work some don't.
Additionally, trying to upload my own portrait image seems to not work anymore. Sheets that previously had an uploaded character portrait now don't appear to, and trying to reupload one does nothing.
This is a webpage issue - the app seems to still have the expected portraits.
There was an issue with AWS (Amazon Web Services), a cloud system that provides a lot of servers for a lot of companies, including D&D Beyond. This issue had one knock on effect, even after the root problem was solved; corrupted caches.
The cached data for the site (the data your browser saves locally to help speed up page speeds and reduce data usage) can sometimes become corrupted and return bad data. This can mean things like the page loading weird or images not loading at all.
The easiest way to resolve this is to empty your cache, either through your browsers settings or through a 'hard refresh' of an affected page (for example, on Chrome press Ctrl+Shift+R).
On mobile devices, clearing your cache is even easier; go into the apps settings and select the option to delete cached data.
Hopefully, the next time you reload the site, all the images should be downloaded fresh and display normally.
Cleared my cache manually and also did hard rest in Chrome and still having image loading issues. It's weird only affecting Chrome works fine in Firefox and other browsers.
