So I know this is an edge case but my DM has us in a campaign where our constitution has dropped to zero because we have been turned into undead creatures from some sort of undead plague. I went in to manually change my CON and D&D Beyond wouldn't let me set my ability score lower than 3 using "override score" or adding a negative "other modifier" (max -10). Is there anything that I can do here? It seems strange and arbitrary that 3 would be the lowest and not 0...
There's nothing in 5e that decreases ability scores, so three is the PC minimum. Also, undead only lacked Con scores in 3e, because that was weird.
There are things that can decrease ability scores, like a Shadow's Strength drain, an Intellect Devourer's Intelligence attack, or the Feeblemind spell. Some kinds of diseases can also reduce Constitution. But reducing any ability score to 0, especially CON, would result in unconsciousness or death. And as mentioned, undead creatures don't work that way in 5e.

Thank you I appreciate the insight. Thanks for taking the time to reply. 😁
As it turns out our DM told us to reset our ability scores now after we have transformed into undead. It was just a temporary thing... Also the 3e thing about undead makes sense because our DM uses stuff from 3.5e all the time and converts it to 5e...
