I'm trying to build a new character, but I only see race options from basic rules, player's handbook, and elemental evil player's companion, despite having access to nearly ALL the 5e books through my local Dnd store. Anyone know how to fix this?
I already checked that my entitlements are in sync in the marketplace, and I already tried logging out and back in.
Having access through your local D&D store won't grant you access to things at this different, online D&D store. If you didn't purchase it on D&D Beyond, you only have access to the free content, which you listed, or things shared with you by someone who did pay for it, via campaign sharing, which requires a master tier subscription.
But I DO have access. I already made a Drow Bladesinger character with a ton of spells and optional rules using non-free content, and I'm able to look at the paid content on the app and on the browser. I downloaded several books that I have personally never bought because I linked my account to a campaign the store is running. I should have access to these other races in the character builder, but I don't. I can see the races on the browser though.
The character will need to be actually part of (Joined) the campaign that's sharing the content in order for you to use the non-free shared content in the character builder.
...Also I had the same mistaken impression that you were asking why the physical books you bought from the local store didn't count for having access to them on this website. It feels silly but we've had that actual question before...)

Helpful rewriter of Japanese->English translation and delver into software codebases (she/e/they)
That's fair lol
And that makes sense, this new character isn't for the campaign that grants me access to the books. Thank you!
How do I close/resolve this thread?
