I'm experiencing the same problem, started last night (maybe 10pm GMT?).
It looks like yet another access control issue causing certain resources to be blocked; this is now what, the third time this exact same thing has happened? Does nobody do any testing or quality control at D&D Beyond? This is a super basic, easily tested and easily fixed issue, it should never make it into production on a site like this.
People are paying money to use this service; whoever keeps breaking it needs their pay docked by a value equal to the time lost on every subscription because the most basic part of the site simply doesn't function. Either that or they need to be "encouraged" to seek alternative employment.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
Editing them through the mobile app still possible.
This occurred shortly after goofing with moving characters around in campaigns and editing them on the desktop browser version, I was also playing with encounters.
Thank you,
Phleebutt.
I have the same case.

DM in Tyranny of Dragons
"I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me..."
I then toggled inspiration off and on and rolled some skills on the web browser version , and Characters are now loadin
I'm not sure if it was a fix on the developer end or if it was switching between the browser and mobile versions I will goof with it later and try and replicate the error and fix the issue
Still not working in Safari, so that's now 2+ days without access to the most basic feature of the service that I'm paying for.

Tried all that; other browsers work but the site should work in Safari, and I should be able to use my preferred browser to access the site without it breaking for two days because someone on the development team doesn't test any changes before releasing them. Safari only doesn't seem to work because it's more strict than other browsers at enforcing access control headers.
This is now the third time that this exact same thing has happened, and it's the same cause every time (incorrectly set access control/CORS which isn't something that anybody should be messing about with in the first place, you set it correctly once then never touch it ever again). IMO we're at the point where refunds need to start being issued for days lost, taken from the pay of whoever ****ed up, because this should not be happening.

Was thinking about starting a new campaign and having everyone use the dnd beyond app to keep track of their things.
Seriously reconsidering pencil and paper at this point. This is the third time I've been unable to have access to all the characters I've made.
Hope you guys find a decent server/programer or whatever you need . It's a great app when it works.
5 hours later and still not working
I can't load my either. Same issue
I have the same problem
At least I can still see a shower of snowflakes that means nothing to me in the souther hemisphere!
This seems to be an issue. There's a larger thread here:

Same issue on my end
14 hours later and still an issue.
Found a work around, you just have to make a small edit to your character on the website and then it'll let you access your character in the app.
worked for me.
THX :)

Update later maybe,

Over 24 hours and still can't view my character in the app.
I am experiencing this problem with Chrome byt not with Firefox. How do I fix it in Chrome?

Have you tried troubleshooting?
Clearing cookies and cache?
Do you have another browser you can try (Firefox/Chrome) to help rule things out?

Also having the same problem, character sheets don't load on chrome and firefox, already tried clearing cache and restarting on both.
