It's been about 14 hours for myself by now when it wouldn't let me access ANY character sheets. I'm on Google Chrome. My browser for my D&D gmail account won't work. I've cleared history, cache, relogged (both site and email), and rebooted device. I was able to access character sheets on another browser of a different gmail, and tried toggling inspiration, moving around in campaigns, and editing the sheets. None of this gave me back access to the character sheets on my D&D browser.
I've edited this post because I have found a solution on my end: I cleared cookies for the past 7 days (others may have to go back further if 24 hours or 7 days doesn't work), and this immediately resolved my issue. All I had to do was log back in! Hopefully this helps others.
Here we go again, and on a weekend. Can't load any characters on the computer and it's game night tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a free service. This keeps happening and I'm wondering why no one is doing anything about it.
I have the same issue. My character list loads, just can't edit view or even create a new character. It's been like this for almost a week! At this point I don't know why I'm paying for a service I can't even use!
Hi, I seem to be having the same problem with the "loading" or rather lack of it trying to access my characters
Every time i try to do so I get a picture of a beholder with a message: "Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our API check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs."
I too am suffering from an issue with Character Sheet loading. I have a constant reload loop that is unsuccessful. I have tried clearing temp files etc and otherwise the set up is the same as it was yesterday and the week before.
If you are having problems in one browser but not another or not in incognito mode, try clearing your cache and/or cookies. Also give a serious read to this comment, and actually that entire thread (that fix is Chrome specific, but might clue other browser users into the cause).
I played a session last night, this afternoon, and this evening. I have not had an issue with characters sheets or builders loading. A player in my evening game had the 503 error on a Chromebook and clearing their cache and cookies got them back in right away.
All these errors look like the cookie length overrun error is starting to affect more things than pictures.
It's definitely not a solved problem, and the support staff are worse than useless; they aren't even bothering to read the messages, just immediately responding with copy/pasted bullcrap having completely ignored the fact that I've tried literally everything they've listed multiple times already and have been telling them exactly what the problem actually is.
Now what the actual specific cause might be is less clear; it's intermittent, and only affecting some login sessions some of the time, which is why logging out and back in sometimes works, but the fault is not with the users, or the cookies, or the browsers.
For whatever reason the website itself is just randomly (and repeatedly) shitting the bed and sending out invalid CORS headers (causing scripts to be rejected as potentially malicious) and/or 504 errors. But as far as I know the developers are not aware of this, because there has been no indication that a single member of the support staff is reading any of the information they're being given or passing it on, because they seem to think their job is to copy/paste some canned crap to try and make it the user's fault.
But most of us aren't using the site for free; most of us have purchased at least some content, and many will be subscribers, and we're losing days or weeks of service at a time without any kind of compensation. Even the shittiest ISPs usually give you a discount or some money back or something if an outage goes on for more than a couple of days.
The support staff used to be helpful, but if any of them are still around I haven't seen a single trace of them since Wizards of the Coast took over; it's just copy/pasting bots by the looks of it. Their excuse is probably that they're "busy", but they're busy because the website's ******* broken and nobody seems to be doing anything to actually fix it.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
On my macbook the character collection page is there but when I try to look at a character it appears briefly, disappears, comes back briefly, then says error occurred on a grey page! Never had this problem before.
Been happening the last few days. Everything else works and I have not changed anything that would stop it on my end. Emptied my cache & that did not help. This is using Safari. I tried Chrome & it works fine but not on Safari all of a sudden!

Having issue on Chrome and on iOS app. had the issue yesterday, was resolved this morning but is not working again now.
We are having the same problem, it not letting anyone in our party pull up their characters. Trying to figure out what we are paying for?
SOLVED - On my end at least...

ERROR code:
53c3f8120c604cf9ab2441562c315ccb (it changes)
The browser I'm using is Opera GX
It however seems to work fine on Firefox for some reason.
I've already tried accessing the character WITH and WITHOUT any:
VPN's
Browser extensions
Ad blockers
Popup blockers
ect.
For the life of me I can't find a way to make it work with opera with is weird since it used to work perfectly fine.
I too am suffering from an issue with Character Sheet loading. I have a constant reload loop that is unsuccessful. I have tried clearing temp files etc and otherwise the set up is the same as it was yesterday and the week before.
I cannot load my character either

Thank for the suggestion, but unfortunately clearing the cache and cookies didn't work for me.
I still keep getting this error code

I cleared cache as well. Blocked the ratings cookie (I hadn't rated anything so this was null, anyway). Logged out and in. Restarted browser.
I'm unable to paste a screenshot into this box. Not sure how to upload a local image, but here is the console (copy and pasted):
