I've followed many threads trying to figure this out and I just can't seem to get it to cooperate.
What I'm trying to do: at 2nd level, the Wizard's AC is 12 + Dex. At 10th level, the Wizard's AC is 15 + Dex. At 18th level, the Wizard's AC is 18 + Dex.
I've created the modifier with "Set > Unarmored Armor Class > Fixed Value: 2" as I've seen on many other threads. This seems to be working (after much trial and error and I think a significant amount of luck.)
In the 10th level I have it set as a Replacement of the 2nd level feature with "Set > Unarmored Armor Class > Fixed Value: 5"
When I level the character up to 10th level however, the "Replacement" option to the feature doesn't seem to be working. The AC is still showing as 13 which is the 12 + Dex (+1) from the 2nd level feature.
Did I miss a box or a value I should have altered? Is the "Replacement" the right choice here? Or should I have done 'Additional' or 'Granted'?
Well it took me another 20+minutes of frustrated clicking, but I discovered that choosing the "Granted" option at the later levels overrides the previous modifiers. So I kinda fixed my own issue... *shrugs*
I don't think what you want is possible. You cannot replace class features on level up. The "Replacement" feature you're talking about is for creating your own "Tasha's optional features".
Your best option is use Bonus, not Set, so level one is bonus > unarmoured ac > fixed value 2, then at level 10 use bonus > unarmoured ac > fixed value 3. This will make it +5 for 10th level.
