had a player join my campaign and he wanted to play a bugbear, told him that was fine he should see it in the list as i had it from volos guide to monsters. when he and i were going over his character he mentioned having to homebrew bugbear. sure enough he shared his screen with me through discord and he couldnt access any of the content i had purchased when he was making his character. is this a bug, or did WoTC change this?
In addition to requiring a master subscription and have content sharing enabled as XXXGammaRay said, your player also needs to have Legacy content toggled on in the race tab of the character creation. The Legacy bugbear will be hidden otherwise.
I followed this and still no bugbear option. Are you folks sure?
Make sure you or someone in your campaign have purchased VGTM or MP:MOTM, have Master Tier subscription, turn on Content Sharing in the campaign, and make the character in the campaign.
VGTM is no longer available for sale, but MP:MOTM is still available. They are not free content, so they must purchased on Beyond in order to access their content on Beyond. If one of you bought VGTM, make sure Legacy content is turned on in the character builder.
Someone in the campaign needs to have Master Tier subscription (they do not need to be the same person that bought VGTM or MP:MOTM) in order to allow Content Sharing. And make sure that person turns on Content Sharing for the campaign.
Content Sharing is limited to only be available within a campaign. If you create a character outside the campaign, you will not have access to content that is shared with you.
If you need basic trouble shooting, make sure your entitlements are in sync. Also try logging out and logging back in again. Additionally, try having the person with Master Tier subscription turn Content Sharing off and then back on.

You or someone in the campaign needs to have master subscription, and they need to enable content sharing in the campaign.
