They only have so many resources - I don't think they are just ignoring it. I'm sure changing the way the character options interact with the formulas used to calculate spell effects is complicated and requires a lot of time. I think they have just been prioritizing other things over this. Its not like they haven't been doing things or have a team of 100 developers.
This problem has been kicked down the road for OVER A YEAR.
A Life Cleric using healing spells to restore HP is not some oddball niche combo. It's core game play for D&D.
Please prioritize this work.
Disciple of Life — This bonus should be shown in the spell tab of the character sheet, added into the spell's noted healing dice. For upcast entries at higher level, the bonus should be adjusted correctly for the new level. e.g. A Life Cleric with an 18 WIS casting Cure Wounds with a 5th level spell slot should see "5d8+11" on the spell details. (The base value of 5d8, +4 for WIS bonus, +2 + the spell's level of 5)
Blessed Healer — This ability should pop a dialog that asks "Did you apply this healing to another creature?". If yes, it should apply the the correct amount of HP to the caster, based on the level (taking upcast into account) of the "spell that restores HP to a creature other than you". Note that this includes spells like Life Transference, not just straight up Cure Wounds or Healing Word. e.g. A Life Cleric casting Cure Wounds with a 5th level spell slot should automatically have their HP increased by +7, limited by current Max HP. (The base of +2 + the spell's level of 5)

I agree. They have been just ignoring and delaying on this major issue forever.

I get around this by customizing my base level spells with +X to Damage Bonus and pasting in a note to remind me to increase it by one point per level. So 1st Level Cure Wounds looks like 1D8+7 for me. 2nd Level looks ike 2D8+7, but has the note "Add +1 HP per spell slot level." next to it. It's not a perfect solution, but it keeps me from forgetting to add the DoL bonus.

Same again. I need to remember to add the +2 each time. It is anoying, but not the end of the world. It would not be as bad, but I paid for the PH to avoid this issue.
Yep. It seems like they just pay lip service to fixing this, claim it’s too complicated, and then just ignore the problem. I paid for all the books and a subscription for my campaign too. It is disrespectful of their members to let this error live for so long.

If they said they'll fix it, then they are going to fix it. You don't need to remind them every other year
Because taking a year and a half to fix a bug is reasonable? It's basic core functionality of the life Cleric, it's not like an obscure function. In my opinion, they should be reminded weekly about it. With this much time passed it sure seems like they don't give a shit.

So you can customize spells, and if you customize the dmg for the healing spells it adds it as a bonus to the healing. The problem is that it does not lock those edits by lvl so that the different versions of the spell cast at higher level cannot have separate customization.
Maybe a fix for this would be to make the customize spell feature lock based on the spell slot in the character sheet and then people could modify it themselves. As is you can only do this accurately for the first level the spell is available at.
Being a new player (just started playing 2019 APR), I didn't even realize this was a thing until I created two separate support characters (Druid & Life Cleric) & noticed they both had the same +3 bonus to healing. I asked my husband to read into the description because I was reading topics about how Life Cleric is supposed to have really good healing abilities. I read the description over & over again, extremely confused because I read on another topic that (depending on your DM) if you pick up 1 level of Life Cleric w/Druid, you can add the Life Cleric bonus to Goodberry making it much more powerful (1 ❤ +3). It confused me because I never saw the bonus applied on my sheet.
Since it has been so long since the OP created this topic & over a year since the mod responded, this is quite a disservice to any of us new players. Chiming in with everyone else, it'd be lovely if the devs created a work around to this issue, please. For now, I just added the +2 ❤ & made a note to add the spell level on top of that. It's just a matter of remembering in the heat of battle. ( `ε´ )

How has this issue gone on for this long?
Oh hey, it's the 1 year anniversary of the last Moderator response to this thread. Hows the fix for this bug coming along?
LOL. Nailed it.

While this is true, there is some degree of, If people are still complaining they still care which can impact where they point bugfixers.

I'm pretty sure you guys missed the sarcasm. This is an old joke commonly made about husbands not getting something done.
On the main topic here, I agree that they seem to have trouble tracking bugs and following up on them.
@ Shadowblade, LOL! You are right, I missed the sarcasm. Now it does strike me as funny. Hah. Also, nice Archer pic.
My apologies, Mammellona, you were too subtle for me.

Is there any timeline as to when this will be fixed? I'm sure everyone is patient, but 18 months seems like a very long time to fix this bug. Thanks!
