When I was messing with the character builder I noticed that the ability "Disciple of Life" Does not add anything to the healing spells. All healing spells just add the normal spell casting ability modifier. I'm not entirely sure if this is intentional or not.
As a new DnD player relying heavily on D&D Beyond to get things right, it took me quite a while before I realized I should be healing for more than I was. Would be great to see this fixed.
Just posting to note I am experiencing this too, Life domain cleric(life)/Warlock(celestial), 14 wis cure wounds shows 1d8+2, should be 1d8+5 because of domain.
I discussed this with staff and unfortunately it's going to take a while.
The problem is that there are some class features in the game, such as the Disciple of Life for Life Domain cleric, or Empowered Evocation for a Wizard that change the calculation of healing or damage within a number of spells.
It's absolutely something that you should expect D&D Beyond to do - as a Life Domain cleric, you should be able to see on your character sheet the actual amount that a Cure Wounds spell heals for.
However, the developers are going to have to implement a system that allows the building of features that can change the calculations of spells in a more modular fashion. Looking forward to the future, we may get an official race that has a minor bonus of "Any curing spells cure for an additional 1 hit point" that will need to be stackable with the Life Domain, or a class feature for a warlock subclass that increases the difficulty of saving throws for enchantment spells they can cast.
I know this isn't great news, but please bear with us - the team is continually growing and the speed of development is going to be visibly picking up.
I tried doing a workaround involving homebrew, but since so many of the always-prepared spells are affected by this, I'd have to basically homebrew a subclass and swap out which spells are always prepared, wouldn't I?
I'm really hoping this is still on their radar. I'm guessing that it won't get tackled until they make their mobile character sheet. Given that the last thing we heard in this topic is that they need to implement a new system, it makes sense to me that they'd get a mobile compatible system before they fix things.
Why fix something your gonna change anyways, right?
I do wish a staff member could give us a bit of an update though. Like at least, "We need to do this first." or something.
August 2019 and this still is not fixed. It's been a known issue for 2 1/2 years. You'd think they would prioritize such a thing more. I've asked in a different thread and directly to customer service. It's always the same answer...they know about it, the are "working on it." I think they decided it's just too complicated (meaning too much coding time required, that is...too expensive) to fix so they just keep ignoring it.

Hi there all,
this is a known issue that is on the list to be resolved.
We'll get it sorted soon hopefully!

awesome, thanks for the quick reply
But, don't hold your breath...or you'll need a cleric with the Life Domain to resurrect you.
Still waiting on a fix for this

You're kind of screwed until Curse gets their house in order....
Any news on the fix for this.
So it is Q2 of 2019 and the Life Domain is still not applied to Healing Spells.
Any Update on the Topic?
LOL roasted.

Thank you!
Any updates, still an issue.
For those wanting updates, I'd recommend asking about it during their weekly Development stream on Twitch.
Beat my rolls. I dare you.
Really looking forward to this being implemented!
