I did not expect the team to fix this bug the next day. But I did expect them to fix it within a YEAR.
Even if I agree with you this is a low priority bug, even a low priority bug should be addressable within 18 months.
We’re coming to two years now that this bug has been on the queue. How long do you think it should take them to fix a bug in a class feature? Or is your position that they don’t ever need to fix this?
I just made a cleric and realized the spell math is off, and now found out this is a 2 year old issue. So you're telling me there's no problem pushing out a whole new class like the Blood Hunter, but can't fix a spell that has been out since the PHB ?

A moderator did respond at one point. I also emailed customer support. They told me it was "complicated," but they were "working on it." I suspect the first might be true but also suspect the second part is not true. I would imagine with all the digital coding power they have to manage this site, they could fix it if they applied resources to it. It seems like it's just not important to them.

I don't think it's 'absurd', as stated by Stormknight, to get it functioning correctly requires a rebuilding of the spell system backend to be more modular. Considering that they're still racing to implement new features, overhauling existing features that are working well enough is a lower priority.
Yes, it's a little bit of work to remember your class feature to apply it, but that's true of all class features. This just happens to be one that people expect more than others.
Considering that the Life Domain was the first official domain for Clerics, is the only publicly available one, and has been in the same state since the official release of 5e... I don't accept that as a valid answer at this point, nor should anyone else.
One of the things that I work on daily is debugging/decomplicating/optimizing systems ranging from network servers down to handwritten data sheets. This is something that the system should have been built around being able to accommodate from the very beginning. They failed to plan for something that was already published material. They knew this was a core feature of a core class, and they ignored it. This is the type of situation that I would strongly recommend that a client demand their team do retraining for, to pass basic design competencies, if not outright terminate weak links.
Perhaps that is exactly what happened too... If giving the current staff the benefit of doubt, the most likely explanation of why it has continued to be an issue for 2 years is likely related to someone from the R&D team getting canned, and now they're in a "legacy code" conundrum that nobody wants to touch and/or can't make any sense of. In any event, the need for the system architecture to be able to handle modular sub-systems dynamically is a basic level of functionality that isn't going to stop being relevant as products mature. That really needs to be #1 on their priority list because it's only going to become more relevant as time goes on.

I know I was one of the early posters in this thread as a player, but now at a DM one of the players in my campaign multi-classed into Life Cleric and ran into this issue. With all the new tools coming to make running sessions easier, it's great to have as many of my players as possible using DNDB. But issues like this make it more difficult for players to use and more likely for them to choose another method.
Bottom line... Love the tools, would love to be a champion for the product, but fix the basics. They really are a problem.

Is there any update on this issue? It's been a known issue for a couple years now and we were told above that "... the speed of development is going to be visibly picking up."
The entire point of having the character mechanics on a computer is to have it do the math for you properly.
IT HAS ONE JOB.

This is one limitation of one subclass that applies to one feature. It's not a failure of the apps sole purpose.

DnDBeyond is great as a whole, but stuff like this is really frustrating.
