A character in my campaign is playing a Kenku, and her speed says it's 5ft. She can't override the speed either. It also has flying, burrowing, swimming, and climbing displayed and other characters do not.
The player needs to check the encumbrance in the inventory.
That was exactly the issue. I didn't even think to check that. They rolled a 4 for strength. This could be fun.
