As near as I can tell, I can't purchase individual elements of Book of Many Things like I could with previous books. Is that accurate? If so, did any of the PTB say why?
Likely due to greed. Either buy the whole thing or you're not worth renting Hasbro IP in the shareholders' eyes.
And the IT people are forced to work on the VTT under ex-Zynga people, so no one has removed the user-friendly ability to buy individual stuff yet due to overwork.
At least, that's what I suspect.

This is happening to several topics, I observe that the DDB search bar doesn't seem to be capturing the part of the URL that comes after the # for all subchapters in Planescape and the Book of Many Things.
Individual items are not available for purchase on Book of Many Things. This will not affect your previous purchases. You will still be able to make a la carte purchases for all products that have always had a la carte purchasing.
We do not have additional information to provide at this time. When we know more, we'll post it here.
BOOOOOOO!!!! Bring back availability of individual items!!! *SHAKES FIST ANGRILY*
There are still a number of issues with Warrior's Passkey:
It states that it can transform into a longsword, but there is no longsword attack action added.
It states the longsword has a +1 to damage and attack rolls (effectively making it a longsword +1), but the +1 bonus is currently applied to all weapons I wield.
It also states that it does 1d10 force damage, but a longsword is versatile with 1d8 base damage and 1d10 if wielding two-handed. Does it always do 1d10 damage now? Is there a different damage die when wielding one- or two-handed?
To work around these issues, I have to manually add a longsword +1, remember it does force damage when attacking, unattune from this item to remove the +1 to all weapons, and also remember that I actually am attuned to this item to keep the max attunement slots in mind.
All in all, it's very annoying to keep track of all this...
Why is this book never included in any of the sales? Is it because the physical version is a premium product? As far as I can tell, there's nothing "premium" about the digital only version.

I too was hoping to purchase the digital version during the sale. Sadly DDB's Black Friday sale sucks this year. I was hoping to get a discount on a few (older) books that I don't have yet... none are on sale. Very limited sale items this year. Very disappointed.
You have to add it as a custom action on the sheet, they also say that in the beginning of the post that it is not fully supported
Thank you I didn't see that on the initial read-through.

Issue: Content from the Book of Many Things not being found by the DDB search bar
Context: this is an issue I observe for Planescape (thread here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/192861-planescape-content-not-appearing-in-search-results) and now I realised is the same for Book of Many Things
How to replicate:
1. go to the DDB search bar and search "seelie market"
2. observe that the only search result is a stat block of a monster
What else appear as a search result to "seelie market"?
This page from the compendium should also appear as a result: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/tbomt/jester#SeelieMarket

The Deck Defender is still not available in the monster page, and thus can not easily have its stats added to a character sheet or combat encounter

It was just on sale (finally!) for Cyber Monday IIRC. It was only 10% off but that's better than nothing. I finally snagged it.
