So, I laugh the late to this party, but I’ve been busy. So, first off, I had made this account on a different email, and swapped it to my current one and for some reason i don’t get emails from DND Beyond. I made a support ticket 2 days ago and still nothing, I don’t know what to do, I want my new book.
Well for what it’s worth, I’m still waiting to get the email on instructions on how to resolve the issue after receiving the bulk email on Friday. I Did reply to that message that day stating I have yet to receive the instructions. Just going to throw that out there to see if anything lands in the ether.
Is everyone else stuck in the "preparing to ship" void of darkness. The book is due out already. People who didn't pre-order have copies. Why haven't they shipped yet?
Near as I can tell, there seems to be people stuck in every stage of the problem. Like, a couple posts above you is someone that just got started with this whole thing. I’m personally sitting at second attempt at completing the PHB portion of the order has also been canceled due to problems with processing payment (which I guess is still PayPal though I have added a new card that I used just this morning successfully at Target to the account) and waiting to hear back after updating my initial support ticket with the second failure.

I originally purchased the 2024 Digital & Physical Core Rulebook Bundle using PayPal Credit on July 1, 2024 (Order Number: DDBR0180909). I immediately submitted a ticket to D&D Beyond Support (Support ID: #4076200) on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 1:36 PM after receiving my Player's Handbook cancellation email at 1:07 PM.
I have since added additional comments to my original ticket, but I have yet received no response from support. They tried to charge PayPal again and failed on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 5:47 PM. I have also updated my payment method in my D&D Marketplace account just in case it helps.
I am adding myself to this thread just for additional visibility as I do not wish to lose either my bundle discount or digital bonuses.

Discounts maybe. Refunds wouldn’t really work because they don’t have the money*. Or at least that’s my understanding of the problem. They’re trying to get the money now for the physical copies, and they’re running into issues doing that.
* Although, yes, I am aware that there are some individuals that are saying they’ve already paid in full and still running into some kind of problem.
I'm just hearing about all this. I did receive my PHB and haven't had any problems yet, but from what I've heard about the payments coming out when the book ships or whatever, my current debit card expires at the end of this year. I'll have a new one by November, but the Monster Manual doesn't come out until next year. I've heard part of this problem is due to payment methods being declined.
Am I going to have this problem because I will have a new payment method before the Monster Manual comes out? My payment method will be updated on D&D Beyond before then, but it sounds like the problem is related to the original payment method used.
I got the 2nd order cancelled, I even updated the card info beforehand so the paypal issue would happen again.. nope. And my bank normally notifies me when a charge is denied, this didn't happen this time. I am beyond annoyed, it is ridiculous that if a process has an issue they don't reach out with at LEAST a link asking to update the billing information, instead of just automatically cancelling it.

I preordered the digital + physical 3 book bundle yesterday on the 15th of September. I used my Apple Credit card. After ordering I immediately looked at my Apple wallet and it showed a pending hold of $197.09 (179.99 + 9.5% TN tax). That was all correct so I went to bed last night thinking all was good. When I woke up this morning (Sep. 16) I had 2 emails, one said payment processing failed and the other said my PHB had been cancelled. So I went to Apple Wallet again and looked. This time the $197.09 hold had disappeared and I showed a Charge from WotC for $73.86 had gone through and a charge of $41.07 pending. The $73.86 I figured out is the 3 digital books minus discounts plus tax. The $41.07 should be the PHB minus discounts plus tax.
So I understood where the numbers in Apple Wallet are coming from it was time to go to DND Beyond and see what my order history looked like. When I look at Order History I see that all 3 digital licenses are showing delivered, I also see the DM Guide and Monster Manual are pending, then I see that my PHB has been cancelled.
Why?!?! The card has plenty of buying power and the funds for the Digital products went through, the card doesn’t expire until 2029, and the billing address is correct. Apple Wallet is showing the $41.07 is still pending but DND Beyond is showing canceled.
I have put in a ticket but have not received a response yet. I do not want to order again because I want the bundle discount and I would have to pay shipping.
Oh another thing I checked under the “licenses” section and it looks like all the preorder bonuses are there.
My order now which shows as separate from the bundle order, says “Preparing to Ship” . I did not mess with anything. I simply placed my ticket and let D&D do the rest. I actually am not certain what reply the email was asking of me to reply above the line with… so I never replied to that email either.

This sort of reminds me of the early days of Ebay, when using PayPal meant I had to wait a few days before the order would go through. Then sellers on Ebay decided they did not want payment through PayPal because of the delay. Eventually PayPal became more current, and most transactions are more instantaneous. However D&D Beyond purchases take extra long to show up. It showed Pending for the longest time, and just today finally I have seen the money taken out for the book. I do believe that is all they were waiting on to ship the book, so I expect tomorrow the book will be shipped as payment was received today, so tomorrow morning all the PAID items get shipped out.
I wander if D&D Beyond uses an old method with PayPal, because the transactions should be in just a few minutes.

The explanation WotC and DDB have given us id ridiculous. They say they don't charge for physical books until they ship, but they have no problem charging for digital books that haven't been released. Nonsense 🤬
WotC better offer something valuable for this inconvenience, because I for one am getting tired of the non stop incompetence.
Hey all. Just found this post, but having similar issues. I put in tickets with the DND store and DND beyond to try to get a hold of people. I am still confused on what to do after their mass email to everyone. I had hoped to have everything about the physical books taken care of. I ended up buying a copy from my LGS but I would still like my copy I ordered. So confused on what to do now.
Checked my FedEx tracker and there's already movement, thank goodness. But the estimated date of delivery is on 09/20, which is a real bummer! The only nice thing about the preorder is that it's discounted, but even all that is not worth the stress this whole incident has caused me.

I have *hopefully* dodged the second round of problems as I'm in "Preparing to ship" status. Can't imagine the frustration level of those who haven't.
The decision on ordering though Marketplace in the future will come later. How they handle the DMG and MM releases will be critical.

My order also canceled a second time. I ordered one from Amazon, so WotC is essentially losing my sale.
