Checked my FedEx tracker and there's already movement, thank goodness. But the estimated date of delivery is on 09/20, which is a real bummer! The only nice thing about the preorder is that it's discounted, but even all that is not worth the stress this whole incident has caused me.
Hey, at least you have movement and a date.
My reorder shows "Preparing to ship" since Saturday.
I'm still not really convinced it'll actually make it :(
And both of you have something besides “canceled”.
I've tried to be patient through this snafu. But here I sit, day of release, still at "Preparing to Ship" Seriously? Its like a 2 minute task, pull a book, grab a box/envelope, print a label, drop it in the outbox. Even if this is affecting thousands, a few people should be able to handle that task. How can a company this size not handle a simple transaction as old as time. Take money, give product. Its ironic that some of the people that actually enjoy this game enough to Preorder are the ones to get their books last.
I've yet to get a single direct response to my ticket. We've had 1 person pop on here a handful of times just to say "I'll look into it..." or "Here's the form letter we sent" none of which seemed to help or was even accurate in most cases. Even the form letters couldn't bother to actually apologize, just let me know how I could fix MY problem. One it's YOUR problem, and two, your information and solution wasn't even correct.
I was really enjoying the entire release update process this time. I was able to actively take part and follow along in the UA process and was really looking forward to getting my hands on the new book. Hence, why I preordered hoping to be one of the first to get to read those new rules.
Thank you for turning that excitement into a very poor experience where I'm not sure WHEN, or even IF, I'll ever get my book.
I'm not sure on the business sense of pushing people into ordering from Amazon from now on. I guess WotC likes paying 45% of cost to someone else who can actually handle orders/shipping.

Same, I've been in this state for almost a week now, and it's pretty discouraging.
Bought the 2024 PHB bundle, got email confirmation of the order then shortly after an email saying my physical copy was cancelled. I used my card to pay, not pay pal. Sent in a support ticket and hoping things will get resolved because I’m currently seeing two charges on my bank account. One for the bundle and the other, a 40 dollar charge, which I’m assuming is the digital only version.
Update on my status. I checked my bank account this morning and it looks like my original payment of the 70 dollars for the bundle was refunded and I was only charged for Digital version. So looks like I will not be having my physical copy resolved and delivered as ordered which is a shame. Looks like I'll have to buy the physical at a local game shop.
I'm one of the physical/digital PayPal crowd who has ended up with two cancelled orders. I replied to my original ticket to see what the next steps are, but I haven't heard back. I'm sure they're still digging through everything, but oof. I wasn't in a huge rush to have the new rules in hand, but it's increasingly clear that WotC aren't giving their departments the support they need. Very disheartening.
For reference, none of the transactions related to the physical books are showing up in my PayPal account or on my credit card at all. There were two separate automatic payments (weird, but okay) to Wizards of the Coast, Inc. in July, which I assume was for the digital books (total of about $75). My guess is that PayPal declined the transaction before it even touched any of my payment methods.
Just got my shipping confirmation and tracking info. I’m glad this has been resolved for me. Hopefully this won’t happen on the next two books and that those still having issues get a resolution soon. Next time I’ll just order my physical copies from Amazon.
Mine is still "preparing to ship" and has been for a while. The did bill me for it. A second time it looks like, despite protestation that they have not. I'm going to have to go though a lot of dispute resolution to get this fixed, and Wizards has not responded directly to any of my explanations that they for did take the full amount from my accounts (paypal positive balance and credit card) . If they refunded any of the initial charge I have no evidence in my PayPal account, just that money was taken out.
Also not sure where LaTia went. Presumably she's not gotten any updates to share, which is frustrating.
With this whole thing, I can see why so many people are jumping ship from D&D and going to other systems. Myself, I'm considering Pathfinder because they have a database just like this for creating characters and digital books.
Since the OGL scandal, I have tried to build enthusiasm for D&D back up. WOTC/Hasbro has just dashed hopes that they were sincere during the "apology tour." Do NOT send me an email saying "Your order ***** is on the way!" when it hasn't even been shipped!
I'm crushed. I really WANTED to believe you, but this, I just don't know anymore. I dislike Pathfinder, but maybe the DC20 game, I just don't know.
Well, on the plus side for me, my copy is on its way, expected to arrive 9/20. I confirmed the shipping with FedEx. I hope the bugs are all sorted out when it comes the next round of books (DMG and MM).
My order is still cancelled, still no updates. Sigh.
In the same boat myself, hope they pull their collective fingers out and get this sorted. My group don't want to move to new edition until the physical books are available, and I volunteered to be their gateway into the 2024 rules. Leaving a bad taste in not only my mouth, but my group's as well. And they play with others who play with others, and so on...
I understand that a huge launch like this is a big deal, so Im willing to give some grace, but I just wish the service side had a way to share info even to confirm my issue is being looked at. I'm just looking at an open ticket.
No updates or responses to my tickets yet; I've just gone and asked for a refund and cancellation at this point. Asked for a refund for the initial PayPal charge as well -- no further developments there as of yet, but in the meantime, I... uh, don't have access to the new PHB on the Beyond app, so that's cool. (I do have the option to buy it though for $29.99!)

It's definitely been an experience.

FedEx tracker states that the PHB is scheduled to be deli on 9/20. Have to ask my relative if he received an ETA on his copy.
Whats the point of a preorder on June 18th after all this constant stream of missteps and lack of response and logistics planning from WoTC?
Well, apparently I'm at the "a FedEx label has been created" stage.
On release day. When I ordered in June.
Umm...Yay?
Still feel really bad for those who aren't even here yet 😕
I ordered January 20th. Today is release day and my book is still preparing to ship.
On top of that, the link to my copy of the book here in DDB is directing me to the marketplace, so I can't even read the book digitally here.
What are you going to do about this WotC?
Just got my shipping confirmation and tracking info. I’m glad this has been resolved for me. Hopefully this won’t happen on the next two books and that those still having issues get a resolution soon. Next time I’ll just order my physical copies from Amazon.
It's release day and looks like my bookbmight leave the warehouse today... I'm very disappointed with this whole fiasco.
