Hello! I made a few private legacy homebrew subclasses for my players but now with the new core rule classes, they don't get the option to choose these subclasses. I've already tried to create it new by creating homebrew classes "from existing Subclass for a template". What am I supposed to do?

This is because as far as D&D Beyond is concerned, the classes from the 2014 rules and the classes from the 2024 rules are entirely separate classes. A homebrew subclass you create for a 2014 class isn't available for the 2024 version of that class any more than a Rogue subclass would be available for a Fighter. Unfortunately there does not seem to be any way to directly convert them right now and we're forced to recreate them manually using the new class.
That kinda . . . sucks. So, we have to redo everyone homebrew we have to make it "fit" into the new mold. That is a bit irritating.

From when D&D wasn't cool, but we played it anyway. I got started when some geeky guys where I worked invited me to play with them and I gave it a try. My first character was a human cavalier named Tara the Giant Killer. We used to play once a month on a Saturday. We would start at 7 or so in the morning, and quit somewhere around midnight. Fun times and fond memories.

It's definitely frustrating that they have not provided an easier way to do this. Unfortunately, given all the issues they're currently having with their own content, I doubt we'll see them make homebrew functionality a priority anytime soon.
