Blessed Strikes rolls an additional D8 of damage as part of the Divine Strike option when casting spells or making weapon attacks when Potent Spellcasting is selected instead.
The thing is that for your average cleric it's still a straight buff because you aren't going to be that good at swinging your weapon, even as a War cleric. Unless you rolled really amazing stats, you probably have a 15-16ish STR so you can wear heavy armor and what not. In terms of actual DPR, by the time you reach lvl 8 you're almost certainly better off using a cantrip instead of swinging a weapon. Heck if you've got a spirit guardians up and are effectively using it, there no shame in just dodging https://routerlogin.uno/.

I'm aware of how Cleric works. I referring to a glitch in which the Blessed Strikes bonus die rolls even when Divine Strike is not selected.
