Can the items likes races that come with Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron please be marked as UA or beta. From the book they are not official. These need to be marked like races and items from UA (Unearthed Arcana). It would also be nice to have note on the market when looking to buy the books themselves but a min. should not be showing up under characters as official when they are not.
"The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and edition. They aren't official part of the game and aren't permitted in D&D Adventure League"
Also we should NOT have to pay for playtest material. Especially when the marketplace netry doesn't state that it is playtest material anywhere until you view the introduction AFTER purchasing.
100% agree this needs to be called out very clear that it is playtest. Almost got bought this when i saw races show up for character creation. Glade I check around before buying but I was very close. This fully comes access looking as official based on how its parts like races and such are showing and no warning that is just more UA/Homebrew stuff.
Races need to be added to Homebrew section not official ASAP
I bought it without thinking to look to see if it was UA/beta material and I'm a little pissed about it. If it's in the marketplace (along with only official material), it should really be more clearly marked as such
Yeah, very disappointed to discover after purchasing that this isn't viable content, it's basically just a giant UA -- which you don't get to learn until AFTER you purchase it, and read the introduction. Super skeevy.
Ah man, I'm disappointed. I thought it was an official release. So it's basically just a WotC approved Dndbeyond homebrew of Eberron? Like the Expanded Racial Feats? But those are clearly sorted as homebrew. So if I purchase this and an official version comes out straight from WotC later, will it all become marked as redundant UA or homebrew? Confusing. It's going to make Dndbeyond difficult to navigate if they consider their unofficial releases the same thing as the official ones and categorize them as such.
I love the idea of Dndbeyond creating and publishing things like this exclusive to the site and I understand how it could help sustain and grow the site. But it should really be more clearly marked as homebrew content in the listing and especially in the character builder. I'm probably still gonna buy it because I love homebrew and the whole feel of this product. However, I shouldn't have to alert people I share content with that "it doesn't say it for some reason, but it's actually unofficial" and then provide them a list myself of all of the races, backgrounds and items from this book to avoid if they want their character "legal."
Edit: So apparently it's not Dndbeyond exclusive haha. But it's also not "legal" content. And based on feedback from this release, an official Eberron book will come about later. I get it now.
So until then, can the content from this book get a new subcategory called "playtest" or "prototype" or something? Because it's the first of potentially many new settings and it would be cool to give them their own little markers similar to how homebrew gets theirs in the character builder. Just some indication, like UA and CR material get?
Just saw Mike Mearls tweet out that as things change with the play test the PDF will get updated, so that makes me feel much better about this. I specifically asked if once things go final if the product will get update and he said yes.
thats nice, but for now on the site when looking at official races and feats pages not just the builder they need to remove eberron material and move it to homebrew or at min call it out like UA
Thanks for sharing the info one step in the right direction.
I am loving DnDBeyond but don't want to see the main pages get bogged down with tons of random content that most games don't allow cluttering up pages listed as official pages so i hope some staff does see these requests.
Here’s a few fact, to make things clear: Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron, is 100% official material from WotC, yet it’s still unfinish as they are parts missing (i.e. artificers). WotC released it through DmsGuild for 20$ and will update the purchased pdf as new content comes out. The content of WGtE is not AL legal, as it’s multiverse is not related to the world AL takes place.
D&D Beyond released the same material available from the Dms Guild for the same price tag, and staff already said that they will update the data as new content and errata for WGtE will come out.
In order to do due diligence, D&D Beyond staff added a disclaimer in the product info in the marketplace as requested from several customers. They also added toggle switch for Eberron and Magic the Gathering content in the character builder.
One last thing, while the introduction of WGtE talk about a possible printed Eberron book, WotC seems to consider this book as THE official one, and it might be available on Print on Demand later on, when the book will be completed.*
*this last part is speculation, in regard to PoD and only products, from the different WotC tweet we got today.

This is very worrying, and IMHO unethical.

Agreed here as well.

I agree. This is clearly dishonest business practices at its worst!
In regards to disabling eberron material: the character builder now contains an option to enable/disable it.
However, it currently doesn't actually disable anything...

The D&D Beyond team has updated the product listing for clarity. Thank you DDB team!
Mellie can we also get the races and feats removed from list under official pages?
Sorry Phrenzi, I'm not staff! Just sharing the happy news.
