Basic equipment doesn't have old/new versions. There is only Longsword.
Aside from a couple of items, it's all identical. The weapon mastery property may be listed, but it doesn't affect the character sheet unless you actually have a weapon mastery ability.
I cant add a Longsword from Basic Rules (2014) to my New made Character Shifter 2014

The weapon mastery confused me, i will ignore it.
