I am trying to make a custom feat that automatically adds 1d4 to a specific skill check.
In the feat builder I make a modification, choose the type Bonus, choose Medicine, and set the value to 1d4. Then I apply the feat to a character, but when I roll for a Medicine check the 1d4 is not added. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks for the reply. I ended up making it grant Proficiency in the desired skill, which has a similar effect. But it would be nice to be able to do the extra roll.
Do you know what the Modifier > Bonus > Skill would actually do then? Is it just a placeholder without functionality?

You can use that to add a flat number (like +2 or whatever) to a skill, but not a die roll like 1d4.
Homebrew edits can sometimes take up to 15 minutes before they appear on the character sheet. If you made the change then checked immediately, it might not have been showing the latest changes yet.

I’m afraid that’s not currently possible.

Interesting. I did try that as well and it didn't seem to work. But I might have messed something up.

I did try it again and waited like you said and it seems to have worked. Thanks!
