Long story short, have a player that has too much damage(single class college of swords bars) and they were somehow able to pick the Duelist fighting style twice, once at 3rd, and once at 8th, when from my understanding of the game, that's something you shouldn't be able to do
Seems like this is likely because you're mixing 2014 and 2024 character options. The College of Swords subclass was written for the 2014 rules, so it has a drop-down with the old kind of fighting style options, which were not feats. But then you've got "Core Rules" content enabled as well, meaning that you can select the 2024 fighting style feats, and the player selected the same one again when they picked up a new feat at level 8. It looks like D&D Beyond doesn't have any built-in protection against that, so you might have to just tell the player to not do that.
