When I turn on the dark display option, the descriptive texts become even brighter than in light mode, with white background and light toned fonts, so it not just hurts the reader's eyes when one is reading it in a low low light environment, but also makes it extremely difficult to read. This is not a brand new issue, it's been like this for a while, but it's really, really annoying.
I like to read chapters from adventures that I'm DMing, before I go to bed, but this makes me skip all the descriptive text and makes it a super bothering experience. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one bothered by this. Can nothing be done about it? It seems to be such a simple problem.
Sorry, I should have specified, that the issue is on the D&D Beyond app.
My specific expereince was with the Curse of Strahd module and Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. But according to contributions to a reddit thread I started it's like this in (at least) the following books:

Was searching for a solution and this thread popped up. Same issue for me. I hope they fix it soon. My eyes hurt lol.
