Both my partner and I noticed on our separate accounts that we only have one subclass choice for every class. This isn’t due to not owning sourcebooks… we do. We also have characters in other campaigns on here from multiple DMs where we have made characters with other subclasses before.
You're making a character with a 2024 class and you don't own the 2024 Player's Handbook
You're making a character with a 2014 class and you don't own the 2014 Player's Handbook
In these situations, you only have access to the one subclass for each class that's included in the free Basic Rules product.
When you're making a character in a campaign, the campaign may have content sharing turned on, which would allow you access to all the character options that everyone else in the campaign owns. If you're making a character outside of a campaign, you only have access to what you personally own.
I have the same issue but I own the Handbooks. So why can i only get one Bard subclass?
If you're only seeing one Bard subclass, it's because D&D Beyond thinks you don't own the version of the Player's Handbook that has the other ones in it. Some possible reasons for that are:
You purchased it, but the entitlement hasn't synced up yet to the character builder. Go here and check whether it says your entitlements are in sync, and if they're not, click the button there to sync them.
You haven't actually purchased it; perhaps, like OP, you thought you owned it because you had access to it through content sharing at some point.

Hello
Both my partner and I noticed on our separate accounts that we only have one subclass choice for every class. This isn’t due to not owning sourcebooks… we do. We also have characters in other campaigns on here from multiple DMs where we have made characters with other subclasses before.
Now no matter what I try there’s only one option.
Is this a known bug?
It sounds like one of two things is happening:
In these situations, you only have access to the one subclass for each class that's included in the free Basic Rules product.
When you're making a character in a campaign, the campaign may have content sharing turned on, which would allow you access to all the character options that everyone else in the campaign owns. If you're making a character outside of a campaign, you only have access to what you personally own.
