The 5.5 Beast Master Ranger Primal Companion attack information does not appear correctly in the Attack section of the character sheet. It does appear correctly in the Primal Companion stat block that appears later in the Actions section of the character sheet.
In the Attack section, the To Hit modifier is not listed and the damage excludes the Wisdom modifier. For example, the Beast of the Land attack damage is listed as 1d8+2 instead of 1d8+2+Wis. (Again, the damage calculation is correct in the stat block.)
To fix both the missing To Hit modifier and the damage calculation in homebrew, edit the Beast of the Land, Beast of the Sea, and Beast of the Air options in the Primal Companion class feature. Edit the associated actions for each. Make sure Ability Type is set to “WIS”, Is Proficient is checked, and Attack Range is set to “Melee”.
How do you edit the action @BaronRusso? When I click on the action I can customize and update the damage bonus but I don't see the options you're talking about.
Also, why do I have 20 uses? It must be how the attack is configured but it doesn't make sense.
Do you know where I might be able to find the Optional Features Tab in the character editor? I should have access to it as my DM has shared all of his content with us including TCoE :)
You can fix it in a Homebrew copy of the 5.5e Beast Master subclass.
Make a copy of the Beast Master subclass in the Homebrew editor.
Put some test in the Short Description and Description fields. These will be blank by default and they are required for you to save the subclass. Select "Save".
The first class feature listed is "Primal Companion". Select "Edit".
The Primal Companion has three Class Feature Options listed. Beast of the Land, Beast of the Sea, Nd Beast of the Sky. We'll eventually want to edit all three, but start with Beast of the Land. Again select "Edit".
The Beast of the Land option has one Action associated with it, also called "Beast of the Land". This action adds the beast's stats to your character sheet. Select "edit" for this Action.
You should only have to change two settings:
Is Proficient: Checked/True (unchecked by default)
Action Type: Melee (not selected by default)
While you are here, if you want your companions HP to reset after a Long Rest, change Reset Type from "Other" to "Long Rest".

ModeratorYou need to enable Optional Class Features in your character settings first to get that section to appear on the Class tab.
You’ll also need to select the 5e Ranger class before any of the TCOE options will appear in that tab. (They won’t appear for the 5.5e Ranger.)

While you are here, if you want your companions HP to reset after a Long Rest, change Reset Type from "Other" to "Long Rest".
Save.
Repeat for the other companion options.
As an alternative or if you don't have access to the Homebrew editor, you could just add a custom Action to your character sheet:
From the Character Sheet, select "Manage Custom".
From "Add New Action", select "General".
Select the new Custom Action to modify it.
Select the Edit drop down to set options as follows:
Range: Melee
Stat: WIS
Dice Count: 1
Dice Type: 8
Fixed Value: 2
Damage Type: Bludegeoning, Piercing or Slashing
Activation Type: Action
Proficient: Checked/True
Display As Attack: Checked/True
Name: Beast's Strike
