not sure what happened but i dont see battle master fighter when i make a character. I should have it but the character builder only shows core 5e and expanded 5e for it. did wizards scam me again or what?
Did you buy 5e or 5.5e?

That subclass is included in the Player's Handbook. Do you own that book, or have access to it through content sharing? If you don't, you won't be able to use that subclass.
Also, there are two different versions of the Player's Handbook — a 2014/5e version and a 2024/5.5e version — and each has a separate version of the Battle Master subclass. Each version of the subclass only works with the corresponding version of the Fighter class. So, if you own the 5e PHB, you need to select the 5e Fighter class; if you own the 5.5e PHB, you need to select the 5.5e Fighter class. If you don't own the PHB version corresponding to the version of the class you've selected, you won't see that subclass.
