Is there a reason Heightened Spell under Metamagic costs 2 sorcery points but under Metamagic Adept it costs 3?
Probably because you're using the 5.5e Sorcerer class, but Metamagic Adept was written for the 5e rules and uses the 5e versions of the Metamagic options.
The cost of Heightened Spell was 3 SP in 5e but was reduced to 2 SP in 5.5e.
