At level 1, 5.5e Artificers get two cantrips and two prepared level 1 spells.
If it's only letting you choose one prepared level 1 spell, you may have selected the 5e Artificer class by mistake. In this version of the class, the number of leveled spells you can prepare is equal to half your Artificer level plus your Intelligence modifier, with a minimum of 1. If your Intelligence modifier is zero (most likely because you just haven't set your ability scores yet) then you'd only be able to prepare one spell at a time.
Take a look at the icon for the class on the Class tab. If it's a dark tan with a potion bottle in the middle and a wrench and hammer sticking up on the outside, that's the 5e Artificer class. If it's a gear with a wrench inside and an orange background, that's the 5.5e version.
If you've selected the 5e version and you want the 5.5e version, you'll need to remove the class you've selected and select the other one instead. Make sure that "5.5e Expanded Rules" is checked on the Home tab.
I'm definitely on the 5.5, it even says Forge of the Artificer. I'm just very confused. Even tried setting my int before picking spells just in case. Thanks for giving it a shot. I think I'll just have to go old-school character sheet on this one.
Are you maybe confusing the spell choice for your class with the ones for the Magic Initiate feat? That feat does (correctly) provide two cantrips and one 1st-level spell, and your sheet doesn’t currently show any spells prepared for your class.
If you go to the Spells tab and click Manage Spells, you should be able to add two more cantrips and two 1st-level spells.
In Forge of the Artificer, it says you gain 2 spells at level 1 but Beyond only allows you to pick one. Am I losing my mind or is this a bug?

A quick test allows me to prepare 2 cantrips and 2 level 1 spells (plus Mending always prepared).

Hmm, do you have the 5.5 Handbook? That's one thing I don't have digitally. Would that maybe be an issue?
