This is the first time I’ve ever tried assigning a homebrew subclass to this character. The character is a 3rd‑level Rogue, which is the correct level to choose a subclass. Homebrew content is turned on for my account, for the character, and for the campaign. Other homebrew content (items, feats, etc.) shows up normally.
My homebrew subclass “Lunar Shadow Stalker” is fully created, saved, active, and appears in my Homebrew Creations list. It’s assigned to the Rogue class, has a valid 3rd‑level feature, and all of its settings and features are correctly configured. Nothing is missing or invalid in the subclass.
The problem is that when I go into the Character Builder to choose a subclass, the dropdown only shows the official Rogue subclasses for 5E and 5E Extended. There is no “Homebrew” section at all, and none of my homebrew subclasses appear. Since this is the first homebrew subclass I’ve ever tried to assign to this character, and everything is turned on and configured correctly, it looks like the Character Builder just isn’t loading homebrew subclasses for this character at all.
Everything on my end is set up correctly, so this seems to be a system issue with the builder not pulling in homebrew subclass data. I need help figuring out why homebrew subclasses aren’t appearing as options even though all the requirements and settings are correct.
Which version of the Rogue class did you select when you were making the homebrew subclass?
The 5e and 5.5e versions of each class are treated as separate classes in D&D Beyond, and any given homebrew subclass can only be associated with one or the other of them, not both.
