I don't know if this would be considered a bug, but I have a Ranger/Fighter that uses a Light Hammer as his main weapon.
He has the Archery Fighting style that gives +2 on ranged attack rolls, and Thrown Weapon Fighting that gives +2 on ranged damage rolls. He also has the Sharpshooter feat which now removes disadvantage for firing in melee, so he almost never uses this weapon as melee.
The Light Hammer has thrown weapon properties, but not in D&D Beyond. It only provides melee rolls that don't include the proper ranged modifiers from his fighting styles.
Is this something that can be rectified? Is it possible in homebrew? I'm relatively new to D&D Beyond, and have become "slightly adequate" at developing some of my own homebrew, but I just cannot for the life of me figure out what I need to do to overcome this in terms of automated results rolling on the platform without manual manipulation.
Longswords have two separate rolling options for one and two-handed damage rolls, I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to add ranged attack and damage rollers to weapons that have both melee and thrown properties (light hammer, handaxe, javelin, etc.).
Consider that thrown weapons aren't ranged weapons; they're melee weapons with a property that allows them to be used at range. Weapons are classified as melee or ranged and that's a fixed quality. So Archery doesn't apply to thrown weapons at all.
For the damage roll (because Thrown Weapon Fighting would apply) you can create a custom action on your sheet for the thrown version of the attack. Adjust the Damage Bonus box to 2.
I hadn't ever actually look at those rules that closely. The light hammer I use is actually a homebrew of the Javelin of Lightning.
For story the item changed shape when my dwarf acquired it taking the form of a weapon more suited to him. Because that item has a returning property when thrown, we always treated it as a ranged weapon.
But the DM had always ruled thrown weapons counted as ranged weapons, which was the whole purpose behind my character build. He was always only ever going to be a thrown weapon fighter, never a bow or crossbow kind of ranger.
However I wasn't aware of the custom action feature. I will look into that to see if that will work to solve my problem. It sounds like exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the tip!

If the DM is ruling that it gets the bonus from Archery as well, there's also a box for the Attack modifier to get adjusted. I was only speaking on the rules as written before, but your DM is able to adjust that in their game, of course.

Of course. However this is all relevant information that addresses why these thrown weapons do not have the properties that I originally queried about, which is very helpful in addition to the solution provided.
Something else I had forgotten about is the option to add manual modifiers to the item itself, which presents another option.
Since I'm using it as a ranged weapon almost all the time, it might be better to adjust the main weapon to reflect the ranged properties and add the custom action for the melee properties.
The advice is much appreciated as it helped me find solutions I was looking right past on my own.
