Took level 7 Gunslinger and my PB is not adding to initiative. I do not have alert or any other trait that adds PB to initiative so there isn't any conflict with that.
Can confirm. (This is the Gunslinger Fighter subclass from Critical Role, not the Gunslinger class from Valda's Spire of Secrets.)
It seems to be confined to the 5.5e version, as it works fine if you use the 5e Fighter class.
