I noticed a configuration error with the "Spellfire Initiate" background from "Heroes of Faerûn" in the character builder:
Skill Proficiencies: Currently, the background grants **Arcana** as a fixed proficiency, but then provides a "[- Choose a Skill -]" dropdown to select the second skill.
According to the official book data, this background should not allow a choice; it should automatically grant both Arcana and Perception as fixed proficiencies. (The Tool Proficiency for the Gaming Set is working correctly).
Could the dev team please look into this and correct the skill implementation so that Perception is automatically granted instead of giving a free choice?
You are completely right! I checked my character sheet and realized that they already gained Perception from another source.
I forgot that D&D Beyond automatically provides a dropdown choice when skill proficiencies overlap. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the quick clarification!

ModeratorYou’ve likely already got Perception from another source: probably your class or species. In that case, it’ll prompt you to choose something else.
