Did i just waste $60?

I recently saw there were digital starter packs for all the basic classes.. inside it mentioned 3 subclasses and 2 races a piece.. and it mentioned specifically 5.5e. I bought them all.. expecting the races to be 5.5e versions of the old races. Yet nothing has shown up on dndbeyond for character creation for a 5.5e version of like.. tabaxi... or kobold.. tortle.. etc? Did i really just get scammed? Lmao. 

I assume you bought for example the Cleric Class Starter Pack? The Tortle Race is from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse which is a 5e book, but it should provide you access to it that.  There isn't a 5.5e Tortle species.

So.. you're saying.. yes.. yes I did waste my money.. cause I already had that book..I had assumed.. given it was talking about 5.5e stuff.. it was giving me a 5.5e version of the Mordenkainen races. 

No, it was saying, you get 3 subclasses etc from the 5.5e book, and the races from MotM.

The marketplace lists the source of the options. For example the druid pack says

Player's Handbook (5.5e)

• 3 Druid subclasses: Circle of the Moon, Circle of the Sea, Circle of the Stars.
• 2 backgrounds: Farmer and Guide.
• 7 feats: Chef, Fey Touched, Healer, Observant, Ritual Caster, Thrown Weapon Fighting, War Caster.
• 1 spell: Fount of Moonlight.

Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse

• 2 species: Eladrin and Triton.

Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse is a 5e book, not 5.5e

So no, you didn't get scammed, but nor did you notice the key information

... yeah I'm realizing this..I assumed they were giving me a 5.5e version of the race specified..was hoping for like.. a 5.5e Kobold etc
