Did a forum search for the issue I have but couldn't find anything relevant. Apologies if this is a repeat request and would happily be directed to the answer if they exist.
I am trying to homebrew a weapon today. I've done this many, many times in the past. Today, regardless of what I do or how I try to do it, the output of the weapons adds this text and conditions automatically.
"This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn."
I absolutely do not want this attached to the item I'm trying to create. I assumed it must be some 2024 rules/Legacy rules toggle but I can't find anything.
How do I get rid of this, please?

D&D player for over 40 years, which is a frankly terrifying thought.
That's been the case since the release of the 5.5e core books in the fall of 2024. There is not currently any way to remove it, as D&D Beyond did not implement separate 5e and 5.5e versions of the base weapons.
Correct. Your homebrew weapon will automatically have all the content of its base weapon, this isn't optional. However, that quality can only be used by characters with the right Weapon Mastery ability.
